Ingredients

  • 3 lb fish fillets or whole fish of choice
  • 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste (or garlic powder)
  • 3 tbsp Machli Masala Add to Cart
  • A few tablespoons of water to mix the Machli Masala
  • Spray oil for baking
  • 2 tbsp canola oil to grease the baking pan
  • Fresh lemon slices for garnish
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro for garnish

Directions

  1. Wash and pat dry the fish.
  2. Make a paste by combining Machli Masala,  lemon juice, and water (the paste should be slightly liquid).
  3. Apply the paste evenly to the fish on both sides and let it marinate for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Grease the baking pan with oil.
  6. Lay the marinated fish in the pan and lightly spray with additional oil. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
  7. Once the oven is ready, bake the fish for 15-20 minutes on each side until cooked thoroughly and any remaining liquid is dry.
  8. Garnish with lemon slices and cilantro.

Note: This recipe can be made using either an Authentic Indian Spice Blend or an Expedition Spice Blend. Indian cooking is about intuition, not precision—so feel free to adjust as needed.
